The Patent:

Ad In The Hole-USA (AITH-USA) utilizes a U.S. patented apparatus for displaying printed information at the bottom of a golf hole.

The “apparatus” is a disc secured on the bottom of a golf cup, a message printed on a self-healing resin attached to the disc, and a spanner (tool) for locking and unlocking the disc on the bottom of the cup.

The disc can easily be removed from the cup to change the advertisement or message using the supplied spanner.

In addition, the spanner is used by the greenskeeper to replace or move the cup with the disc intact simply by inserting it into the flag hole, rotating it slightly counter-clockwise and pulling the cup out of or placing it in its position.
